Dr Harry Asche will illustrate the importance of hydrogeology in tunnel planning, design and
construction. He will also discuss the fundamentals of hydrogeology; the tools used by
hydrogeologists to define and identify the critical parameters; how to make sense of the data; and
“tips for tunnellers”.
Mike Dudding will talk about groundwater inflow measurements, during a recent rocktunnelling
project in Melbourne, and compare inflow measurements with predicted values.
