Join us for this annual technical event highlighting learnings from successful female leaders in the geotechnical field followed by networking over drinks and canapés.

Erin Sweeney, Senior Geotechnical Engineer Century Mine
Erin has over 10yrs experience as a geotechnical engineer and geologist. Erin has worked in open cut and underground mines across coal and hard rock as both a Geologist and Engineer. She has a strong background in slope stability, geotechnical feasibility studies and site operational roles. Erin will be speaking about Geotechnical Risk Management.

Dr Sue Henderson, Henderson Geotech
Sue completed her BEng (civil/geotech) and Masters at QIT/QUT and PhD at CSIRO Division of Soils in Adelaide. Since 1995 Sue has been self-employed as a geotechnical consultant to the mining industry and in that time she has managed ACARP research projects on tailings dams, coarse rejects and rehabilitation. Her talk will be on geotechnical challenges of mine waste materials and Sue will pass on some lessons learned over 30yrs of practice.

Michelle Phillipson, Senior Geotechnical Engineer Jacobs
Michelle will be presenting of the Transport Network Reconstruction Programme for Far Nth QLD, A geotechnical perspective. Following the devastation of Cyclone Yasi the DTMR had a huge job on their hands to rebuild the transport network. Michelle’s presentation discusses the challenges and some of the solutions adopted for landslip remediation.

Lis Boczek, Associate Engineer ATC Williams
Lis has nearly 20yrs as a civil/geotechnical engineer in waste and tailings dam engineering. Lis has spent time overseas in the waste management industry and since returning her focus has been in waste management, landfill design, mine tailings and water management. Her presentation will be on the management of seepage from new and existing Tailings Storage Facilities.
