IAH logoThe Sydney Chapter of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) with the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) are proud to present its 19th annual Symposium to be held on Friday 13th November 2015, entitled ‘Recent Developments and Experiences with Groundwater and Excavation’.

The Symposium forms part of the continuing program of events by the Sydney Chapter of the AGS, designed to keep the engineering profession aware of recent developments in particular aspects of geotechnical engineering practice.

Overview of the 2015 Symposium

The 2015 AGS Symposium will present the state-of-the-art practices, innovative technologies, new research results and case histories in construction and design towards safer excavations, more cost effective shoring practices, accurate groundwater modelling and better management systems for urban groundwater issues.

The goal of this symposium is to provide professional engineers, researchers, specialist contractors, regulators, educators and students the opportunity to meet and share their knowledge and experiences in this area.

This symposium will bring together engineers, engineering geologists, hydrogeologists and researchers who are interested on new advances in excavation techniques, groundwater control, lessons learnt from excavation collapse and experiences in geotechnical aspects of groundwater and excavation.
