Aims of the Course

Students who complete the course should be able to:

Attendee Evaluation

At the end of the course, the participants will be asked to prepare records of a mock site visit, which will be evaluated by the course leader. Constructive feedback will be provided to all participants on completion of the final evaluation.

Who Should Attend

The course is intended for a broad range of technical staff that are called upon to visit sites for geotechnical purposes. Those who will be benefit most from the course are graduate to intermediate level geotechnical engineers, geologists, geo-technicians and civil engineers.

Each course will be limited to about 16 attendees. Additional dates will be considered if interest exceeds capacity. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of payment.

Course Venues and Program

Courses will be run in public open spaces in each of the cities where the course will take place. Sites are selected where there is good range of appropriate geotechnical features; where there is shelter to escape inclement weather and toilet facilities.
