Seismic Flat Dilatometer – Results and recent developments

Prof. Silvano Marchetti

The presentation summarizes the experience gained from SDMT tests performed at 34 sites. In particular it presents an overview of the SDMT equipment, comparisons of Vs measured by SDMT and by other methods, Inter-relationships Go, Ed, Mdmt based on a very large number of data points and a selection of significant SDMT results and related comments. The presentation will also address the major issues of present research, mostly focused on the development of methods for deriving the in situ G-gamma decay curves and for evaluating the liquefaction resistance of WAnds based on SDMT results.
