We have to be very proud of our YEG group. They are having another worldwide webinar coming up this month, and they have also given two travel grants to two students to attend the field seminar this summer! Congratulations to the winners!
This has been a very busy week for many geo-disasters around the world! The worst ones have happened in Africa where the Congo and Rwanda connect — lots of floods and landslides and deaths. Other landslides are mentioned in Utah and California (U.S.), Isle of Man (U.K.) and Turkey. Two earthquakes are mentioned in Japan and southern California (U.S.).
