Agenda
AGM – 6pm. 15 Minutes. This will be short and interactive. We have a small but keen membership: As a percentage of members, our attendance at meetings out punches other chapters. We want to plan for a year of meetings that will inspire and educate us. There are already moves towards running a workshop on landslide geotechnics – tips trips and falls.
TALK – 6.15pm 30 Minutes. “Geo Remediation in Antarctica – more geoenvironmental engineering than geotechnical because we aren’t dealing with slope stability in our designs! But we could get into some discussion on ice and snow, and not just soil and rock by the end of it…. I might have questions for you guys” – Rebecca McWatters, PhD, P.Eng Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineer, Antarctic Conservation and Management, Australian Antarctic Division, Kingston, Tasmania, Australia
NETWORK – 6:45pm. 15 Minutes. More drinks and food. Informal discussion lead by Colin Mazengarb on the Data sets of incredible value that are being added to The LIST almost weekly. Learn what is already there and what is to come.
