AGM and Social Night – “Behind the Streets of Adelaide”

This year we’re holding our AGM and social evening in the Terrace Room of the Adelaide Pavilion, situated in the beautiful Veale Gardens. In addition to delicious food we will be entertained by Dr Jeff Nicholas KSG, well-known Adelaide historian and author of “Behind the Streets of Adelaide. Come along, bring your partner and find out why SA is such a great place.
At the AGM, the committee for 2020 will be elected. Nominations are open until COB Friday the 22nd of November. A nomination form has been sent to our members, however if you would like a copy of the form, or have questions related to joining the committee, please email Michael Crisp at [email protected].

The evening is planned to proceed as follows:
• 6pm to 7pm AGM
• 7pm to 8pm main course
• 8pm to ~8:30pm illustrated talk by Dr Jeff Nicholas “Behind the Streets of Adelaide”
• 8:30pm to 9pm dessert & coffee

About the speaker
Dr Jeff Nicholas
Jeff Nicholas was born in South Australia and educated at the University of Adelaide. After a career in education he studied history at Boston University. Dr Nicholas has developed an extensive knowledge of both 19th Century British History and Early South Australian History. He has a copious biographical knowledge of some of Britain’s most notorious liberal politicians of the early 19th Century. The fruit of his research is the book “Behind the Streets of Adelaide”, published in 2016.
