Annual General Meeting and Eminent Speaker Brian Simpson OBE

The Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Geomechanics Society will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Monday 5th November, 2012. The meeting will be held at the Main Engineering Lecture Theater, University of Tasmania – School of Engineering Building, Sandy Bay, commencing at 5 30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Brian Simpson OBE, ARUP Fellow, will be providing a keynote presentation on Eurocode EC7 – Geotechnical Design. Brian’s presentation will deal with the fundamentals of the code and its applicability to local practice. The code provides alternatives to local codes and may be employed where local codes are not available or applicable. Brian’s presentation will be invaluable for all geotechnical practitioners.

All members are encouraged to attend.
