The aims of the half-day seminar were:

1. To share how different stakeholders perceive and manage ground engineering risk;
2. To understand better the constraints under which different stakeholders operate;
3. To identify collective opportunities for better management of ground engineering risk; and
4. To show how good quality, timely ground information can result in more cost effective foundations and earthworks, thereby reducing overall project cost.

The half-day seminar was very successful and raised a number of important issues relating to appropriate site investigations and on-going monitoring.
