AS 1726 : 2016 Seminar – Newcastle

Members of the SA CE-15 Committee

SYNOPSIS

The most recent edition of Australian Standard 1726 – Geotechnical Site Investigations was released in 1993. In 2011 the AGS surveyed its members and stakeholders to consider possible revision of this Standard. This survey included a total of 25 questions, with 17 pertaining to the technical content of a possible revised Standard. Subsequently AGS requested Standards Australia to consider preparing a revision of AS 1726 and this request was accepted and acted upon.

Committee SA CE-15 was re-established by Standards Australia and has recently been engaged in the task of reviewing and revising AS 1726. This most recent revision of the Standard has been informed by the results of the AGS survey and a document subsequently prepared by AGS.

A draft for public comment of the revised AS 1726 was issued by Standards Australia in late February 2016.

The purpose of this seminar, to be presented by members of SA CE-15, is to highlight the more significant changes to the Standard, describe what is new, and present some background explanation and rationale for the changes and additions. Questions, reactions and feedback from AGS members will be encouraged at the meeting.

Public comment on this draft Standard will close on 29 April 2016.

This is your opportunity to express your views directly to members of SA CE-15.
