Hydrogeology of the Blue Mountains – A Field Trip

This field trip will provide an overview of the hydrogeology of the Blue Mountains area from the Nepean River in the east to the Grose and Coxes river catchments in the west. The trip will demonstrate the links between geology, soils and ecosystems and will explain the cultural significance of the groundwater and its expression in the area.
The trip is aimed at engineering geologist, hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers and ecologists to understand the significance and characteristics of groundwater in the area.
About the presenter

Katarina David Vice President, IAH NSW Branch
Katarina is a registered professional geoscientists in the field of hydrogeology (RPGeo) and has over 25 years experience in practicing hydrogeology around the world. She is a Vice president of the IAH NSW branch and has a keen interest in the hydrogeology of the Blue Mountains where she has undertaken work on the water supply, groundwater characterisation and the study of groundwater dependent ecosystems.
