Ovingham Level Crossing Removal Project

This presentation will give a project overview of the Australian and South Australian government’s $196 million budget towards the removal of the level crossing at Torrens Road, Ovingham with the project being delivered by the PTPA Ovingham Alliance consisting of DIT, McConnell Dowell, Arup and Mott MacDonald. The presentation will discuss the design of the 4-span steel box girder structure, construction and erection methodologies adopted to minimise disruptions to road, and rail users and interfacing with Gawler Rail Electrification Project.

Michael Kipreou McConnell Dowell
Michael is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with 10+ years design experience primarily in the bridge and transport sector. Prior to joining McConnell Dowell, he worked as a design consulting engineer. Michael has been involved in several South Australia’s highly complex and challenging rail projects, including the Goodwood Junction Rail Grade Separation, Torrens to Torrens Outer Harbor Rail Bridge, Oaklands Level Crossing Removal and the Meyer Road Bridge Replacement.
Lauren Amato Geotechnical Engineer, Arup
Lauren is a Geotechnical Engineer at Arup with 3 years design experience in the infrastructure sector. Lauren has been involved in a number of South Australian transport and rail projects such as the Regency to Pym Street Motorway, Mike Turtur Bikeway Overpass and the Regional Bridges Replacement Program.
