Technical And Economical Optimisation Of Foundation And Ground Improvement Systems
P. Adam Zakrzewski, MSc.Eng (Civil) MIEAust, RPEQ, NER
Adam will discuss a range of pile geometries, installation methods and their trade-offs in order to conceptually brainstorm the ideal – the most cost effective, safest and sustainable deep foundation solution.
Would such a system even be possible? Would an optimal pile topology lead to an impractical and over-expensive installation process?
During the talk, Adam will share his experience with tools and systems used to optimise pile topology. He will discuss the combination of existing installation techniques which could lead to drastic reduction in cost and risk profile. The proposed method could not only enable formation of “theoretically ideal” piles but additionally improve the surrounding soil and provide a higher level of confidence regarding design performance and safety.
We look forward to a stimulating, insightful and thought-provoking discussion!
About the speaker
P. Adam Zakrzewski, MSc.Eng (Civil) MIEAust, RPEQ, NER PAILE Solutions
Adam specializes in foundation system optimization using a combination of ground improvement and piling techniques.
Commencing his career in 2006 as an FEA Engineer, he moved through a range of roles in Europe and Australia, ranging from Structural Engineering through Bridge Engineering to Project Management. This varying technical exposure allowed Adam to gain a valuable, practical experience and understanding of structural systems.
Seeking further professional challenges, in 2012, Adam stepped into the dark side of geotechnical engineering. As a part of the Menard Oceania team, Adam has been utilising his structural and geotechnical knowledge to design and install optimal foundation systems for a range of projects including Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade, Brisbane International Cruise Terminal and many smaller infrastructure developments located on soft soils of South-East Queensland.
Thanks to his experience, Adam became one of the leading authorities in technical and economical optimisation of foundation and ground improvement systems. This interest and passion resulted in Adam recently joining PAILE Solutions where he has an opportunity to further champion risk and cost reduction by introducing novel pile installation techniques.
Adam’s hobbies are Rock&Roll, Clay Aiken, Sandy Danny and geotechnical jokes no one understands.
