Victoria Chapter 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner
Registrations have now closed
The Victorian Chapter of the AGS invites you to celebrate our 50th Anniversary (belatedly)! The AGS was established in 1970 as a non-profit organisation, to promote and advance the theory and practice of geomechanics, as well as providing a learned society for members. Today, the AGS remains a nexus between consultants, contractors and academics practicing within the field of geomechanics.
In 2020, the AGS turned 50. Given the challenge of COVID these past two years, we delayed the 50th celebration. As some light dawns at the end of the tunnel, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend a gala dinner in honour of the contributions from our all members past and present.
The event will be held in the ballroom of The Hotel Windsor on the night of 23 March 2022. The doors will open from 6:00 pm, where we will be having drinks and canapés whilst mingling with fellow members, former AGS committee members, and AGS memorabilia collated from the past 50 years. A sit down dinner will follow with a few (limited) speeches from AGS National Chair and Honorary Life Members. There will also be an opportunity for members to say a few words should they wish. Followed by the obligatory birthday cake.
After the extended lockdowns and substitution of in-person events for web hosted ones, we would love to see as many of our members make it out to the Hotel Windsor. Please register early to avoid missing out.
As a courtesy to fellow guests, we do ask that all attendees undertake a Rapid Antigen Test before attending the event, and to not attend if the test result is positive or if you have any COVID symptoms. Refunds will be provided.
Engineers Australia members participating in AGS technical sessions can record attendance on their personal CPD logs. Members should refer to Engineers Australia CPD policy for details on CPD types, requirements and auditing guidelines.
