Young Geotechnical Professionals’ Seminar & The 19th Dr Baden Clegg Award
The WA Chapter of the AGS invites participants for the 2020 Young Geotechnical Professionals’ Seminar Evening on Tuesday 14 July 2020.
Three (3) speakers will be chosen to give a 15-minute presentation, based on a one-page abstract on their preferred geotechnical topic (due 12 June).
Participants must be under 35 years of age on 30 June 2020 and may be geotechnical engineers, geologists, mining engineers, hydrogeologists or other geotechnical professionals working in industry or academia.
Proposed talks need not be overly technical or theoretical, but should reflect interesting and challenging aspects of the speaker’s work that would be of interest to the geotechnical community. The Dr Baden Clegg Award will be presented to the best contribution.
This annual event gives a platform for our younger geo-professionals to present their work, gain feedback from experienced colleagues and become involved in AGS activities.
Important Note: When submitting an abstract, the author confirms that they are able to attend and present on the date of the event (Tuesday 14 July 2020) and that the proposed presentation is not subject to further approvals by client or employer organisations.
– First Place: $500 + Trophy + A collection of AGS merchandise
– Runners up: $100 + A collection of AGS merchandise
Abstract Due: 12 June 2020
