The latest issue of the IAEG Connecter newsletter is available to read online. Special Welcome Message from Scott Burns Welcome to the 260th IAEG Connector, the electronic newsletter connecting environmental and engineering geologists around the world! Each year our home office puts out three to four newsletters about our organization. They are calling for more news for our Newsletter Number 2 in our first article. Next week we will have a summary of the mid-year board meeting from President Marinos. Some interesting geo-disasters are mentioned this week, especially the rock avalanche in Austria.

The loss of Professor Jamiolkowski is a very sad day for the geomechanics profession, both in terms of the experience and expertise lost, as well as the unwavering advocate that we had for our industry.
The latest issue of the ISSMGE News & Information Circular is available to read online, and includes information on: ISSMGE Heritage Time Capsule (HTC) Update, ISSMGE Bulletin, ISSMGE Foundation, and Conferences.
