A dynamic method for evaluation of the soil bearing capacity in off-road locomotion
A dynamic method for evaluation of the soil bearing capacity in off-road locomotion, using an impact hammer, is suggested and examined. The pressure-settlement curve obtained by this method of dense sand is comparable to that by the “California Bearing Ratio” test. Coefficients of pressure-sinkage relationship, Kc and n, evaluated by using the hammer-sinkage test results are very close to mean values in the off-road locomotion literature. The value of Kφ found by this method is relatively very high.
