Discussion: Hu et al. (2016) ‘TMI Assessment and Climate Zones in WA’

The research and paper “TMI Assessment and Climate Zones in WA” (Hu et al., 2016) published in the September 2016 issue of the Australian Geomechanics form a notable progress in climate zoning across Western Australia. It should be noted that the climate zone mapping for the Perth area proposed in this paper (Figure 1 below) includes a peculiar northern extrusion of the ‘Wet Coastal/Alpine’ (Hs= 1.5 m) climate zone (Zone 1) into the ‘Wet Temperate’ (Hs=1.8 m) climate zone (Zone 2).
