Welcome to the 282nd IAEG Connector, the electronic newsletter connecting environmental and engineering geologists around the world!

The lead two articles today involve suggestions from Brazil on BIM (Building Information Modeling). Geotechnical BIM is an adaptation of civil construction BIM to investigations, geological and geotechnical models and engineering design.

Many news items from around the world are also covered. In Iceland volcanic eruptions are threatening a village of 3500 and the country’s most famous tourist attraction, the Blue Lagoon. A huge tunnel collapse in India is leading to the rescue of over 40 workers trapped underground. Nepal continues to have aftershocks from its large earthquake.
